About BlogCrafted
BlogCrafted is a one-woman blog shop with two years of experience in wordpress blog setup, migrating blogs from Blogger to Wordpress and moving self-hosted Wordpress sites, theme customization, and ongoing blog management.
My Background
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from a small liberal arts college. I graduated summa cum laude, which says something about my drive. Though I didn’t take any computer science classes during my college years, the computer science department didn’t offer many classes that would be useful to blogging and Wordpress anyway.
What I know about blogs is almost entirely self-taught. The rest I’ve learned from some helpful friends who have shared their design/blogging insights with me. I’m 24 and have been blogging and doing HTML site design since I was 14, but I didn’t concentrate on learning CSS and XHTML until a few years ago. As someone with a pretty solid understanding of HTML, I took to them pretty quickly. It just takes some skill and a lot of desire to learn/willingness to explore.
My Experience
I knew that in order to run my personal blog well, I should learn as much about blogging, Wordpress, and theme work as I could. I studied and began applying the skills to my site. Soon, acquaintances began asking me for assistance on their own sites. After doing the work informally for a while, I decided to open my business as an expansion of my other freelance work.
I have been running BlogCrafted since the late spring of 2008 and created the website in the late summer. You can read testimonials from some of my clients here.
