“the “” contains ALL the site’s Wordpress files” is this a typo, because it confuses me.

Excellent tips. I use the database plugin, but I don’t use the other one to back up my files… I probably should.

@Lazy, that’s an excellent suggestion for people who use the normal Wordpress image uploader. I have a bad habit of uploading images through that but also to an image directory and occasionally to the root. Plus I have an extra script directory. I’m messier than I should be…but I also don’t like the uploader.

But for most people, I think that’s a perfect option. I should mention it in a post sometime and perhaps add it above too.

Why not use http://www.blogtrafficexchange.com/wordpress-backup/ for the files part?

Ms. Crafty: I’ve looked into the plugin and added it to the post as an alternative for backing up files.

I regularly run a back up as I am really anal about protecting all of my info. I back up to an internal hard drive as well as an external.
