Just because you have a blog doesn’t mean you want to get involved in the nitty-gritty technical aspects of running it. Maybe you don’t have the time, maybe you don’t have the interest, maybe you don’t have the skills and don’t want to learn. No problem.

I offer ongoing blog management services in which I take care of your site upgrades, your backups, restoring from backup, and any other periodic needs you have. These needs can include everything from installing a new theme to suggesting a plugin. The ongoing relationship itself does not cost anything. Most clients open a tab and are billed at my hourly rate. If you desire to terminate the relationship, the balance of your tab will be refunded.

Wordpress Updates

Staying on top of Wordpress updates is important for your blog’s security. Besides adding new functionalities, most updates also include security patches. I backup your blog, upgrade Wordpress’s files (I do so manually, to avoid occasional glitches of the automatic update option built into Wordpress), and check for any issues.

If necessary, I also update plugins to make sure that they’re compatible with the newest version of Wordpress.

Theme Updates and Changes

If you use Thesis or another regularly-updating theme, I handle upgrades and any customizations that have to be made due to changes in the new version of the theme.

Backups and Backup Restoration

I will set your site up with two backup plugins, one for files and the other for the Wordpress database. In the event of a hacking or other site meltdown, I will restore your site from the backups.
