Blog Migration
I have assisted a number of people in various stages of moving their blogs. I do everything from providing suggestions or assisting with hitches to moving the entire blog. For example, I moved Living Almost Large from Blogger to a self-hosted Wordpress after she ran into a major snag in the move which kept the automatic import from working.
LAL writes:
Blog was kind enough to help me import and move my blog from blogger to a self-hosted blog. This new format seems to be working out well.
I also migrate Wordpress installations from one host to another. Says the owner of Ultimate Money Blog:
I was so intimidated to switch web hosts but with the professional assistance of BlogCrafted it was so easy! They were so helpful, kind, and efficient! Less than 24 hours after I first contacted them I was with a new webhost and as happy as I could be. They provide wonderful assistance, and no matter what you need I’m sure they’re the best people to ask! Thanks so much, BlogCrafted!
WordPress Setup/Troubleshooting
Crystal at Budgeting in the Fun Stuff contacted me after experiencing some trouble with her WordPress core files, rendering her dashboard inaccessible. She writes:
Just so you know, YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I so wish I had contacted you yesterday and not wasted 5 hours of my own time to frak up my own sites…
I already suggested BlogCrafted whenever people had issues, but this was above and beyond on a Sunday night. I really appreciate this. Thank you so much!
Theme Customization
Ben at Milk Your Money asked me to address an issue with their navigation bar. He writes:
We had been having trouble getting our navigation buttons just right for an upcoming debut and had asked several “gurus” how to go about remedying it. While discussing it with some fellow members of the MoneyLifeNetwork, one referred me to BlogCrafted. I knew that they had done some work for him and he was extremely pleased with their assistance. So I shot them an email and after a few questions, the entire issue was resolved flawlessly and quite eloquently.
It was a level of service that I was not expecting as most forums take hours and usually involve an amazing amount of fluff to plow through. They are definitely on my short list in case I need help again and I feel good knowing that it would be money well spent.
I changed the design on Working for Financial Freedom from a two to three column layout. Before and after I changed the design:
She says:
I’ve changed things up a bit here on Working for Financial Freedom. Actually, I can’t really say “I” did anything, because BlogCrafted did all the work. They’re a whiz with design and was able to do things today that would have taken me months to do. Thank-you BlogCrafted!
I’ve also done complete from scratch theme builds such as the one at TaylorsvilleLakeCottage.com.
Site Optimization
I offer usability testing and general site/advertising optimization consulting. That One Caveman writes:
While my site didn’t need a huge site makeover, the general consulting that BlogCrafted provided helped my blog income go from poor to great. Their price was more than reasonable for the work they provided and they came up with solutions for me very fast. The little tweaks they recommended made my site look much cleaner and raised my monthly Adsense by over 300%.
Ongoing Blog Maintenance
For those who want to concentrate on their content instead of tinkering with their sites, I offer an ongoing blog management service. Larry Brooks of Storyfix writes:
BlogCrafted gets that not all writers are either technically astute or all that interested in that side of things. They’ve been there for me through the course of launching new products, redesigning my site, site maintenance and backup, advising me on both technical and marketing issues, and generally having my back for both problems and opportunities. I think of them as my resident genius, and they’re as fast as they are good. The best value — and the best colleague — I’ve found online, anywhere, period.
